Pibcremental Buildings Tier List — Early, Mid, Late
Staff Pibs and spend upgrades on the structures that unlock the next tree growth fastest.
This Buildings Tier List ranks Pibcremental structures by how hard they push your civilization toward the next tree growth, resource unlock, and prestige-ready economy. Buildings appear as you spend resources to grow the tree; each quirky factory wants Pibs, clicks, and upgrades. Assigning workers evenly looks tidy, but bottleneck staffing wins runs.
Core loop reminder: hatch Pibs with Papa Pib, park them on buildings, hold-click for burst income, buy passive upgrades, grow the tree, then chase scrap, silk, events, and relics. For mechanic deep-dives, see Resources & Buildings and the Production Planner. Prestige permanent choices live on the Prestige Buffs page.
Ranking rules
- S — Staff and upgrade immediately; gates progress.
- A — Excellent once S priorities are fed.
- B — Strong when its resource is the bottleneck or a relic lands.
- C — Optional polish while flush.
- D — Delay until late luxury or challenge goals.
Assumptions: normal active play early, mixed idle later, no challenge restrictions.
Early game (tiny tree → first growths)
S — Sap production buildings
Sap is the first currency that matters. You need it to hatch more Pibs and to pay early tree growth. Put your first free Pib on sap collection, keep clicking the building while hovering, and buy cheap carry or multiplier upgrades before spreading workers thin. Extra Pibs usually beat decorating a half-built side structure.
S — Papa Pib hatch pacing (support, not a factory)
Papa Pib is not a classic production building, but hatch timing decides how many workers you can field. Spend sap on new Pibs whenever the next hatch is cheap relative to your sap rate—especially before a growth that unlocks Scrapyard-style structures.
A — Scrapyard (as soon as it unlocks)
After the first meaningful tree growth, scrap becomes the second gate. Move spare Pibs onto the Scrapyard, buy early recycling or carry upgrades, and keep sap online so you are not stranded with scrap but no hatch fuel. Many softlocks are really “ignored Scrapyard while over-investing in sap cosmetics.”
B — Early click-focused nodes
Buildings that reward hold-click or hover multipliers are strong while you are at the keyboard. Rank them A only if you play actively; drop them toward B/C during pure idle stretches until passive upgrades catch up.
C — Flavor unlocks before scrap targets
Cute side buildings that appear early but do not feed the next growth cost can wait. Peek at their upgrade tree, buy a single cheap node if it is nearly free, then return to sap and scrap.
Early checklist: sap staffed → hatch when affordable → grow tree → Scrapyard staffed → dump upgrades into the tighter of sap vs scrap.
Mid game (multi-resource juggling)
S — Bottleneck factory of the current growth bill
Each tree spend lists a recipe (for example large sap plus scrap). Whatever currency is furthest from the goal becomes temporary S-tier. Reassign Pibs aggressively; idle assignment from ten minutes ago is often wrong.
S — Battery (when power/speed links matter)
Battery-style buildings that speed loops or link production bars become high priority once upgrades mention linked multipliers or click-rate gains. Staffing the Battery while ignoring Scrapyard is a common mistake—the Battery amplifies a pipeline that still needs scrap and sap flowing.
A — Multiplier-bar buildings
When multiplier bars unlock, clicking a building fills a bar that boosts efficiency before decay. Structures you can hover often—especially while menus are open—rise to A. Passive play should still keep bars topped when you check in.
A — Event-feeding buildings
Scrap events, wishing stars, and similar mini-loops throw resources and relic chances. Buildings that generate the event currency or improve event rewards deserve A staffing when an event is active, even if they are B in quiet periods. Details live in Events & Relics.
B — Silk / Silkworm Daycare / Costume Parlor chain
Silk unlocks costume and tool crafts that stack sap multipliers and other bonuses. Treat the silk chain as B until you can afford the first meaningful costume tools without starving scrap for the next growth; then promote it to A while those crafts are cheap relative to your income.
C — Even staffing for “looks balanced”
Spreading one Pib everywhere feels safe and is usually worse than overstaffing the bottleneck plus a secondary feed. Use C-tier overflow workers only after S/A buildings have healthy crews.
Mid checklist: read the next tree cost → staff bottleneck → keep Battery/event buildings warm → invest silk when crafts multiply sap → consider prestige if upgrades feel exponential and buffs would help (see Prestige Guide).
Late game (events, relics, prestiging pressure)
S — Relic-synergy buildings
Relics that boost a specific building or add scrap luck, hatch extras, or battery speed turn that building into temporary S-tier. Re-read relic tooltips after each event haul and reshuffle Pibs the same day.
S — Prestige-prep production
When you are banking prestige points, buildings that push the metrics your prestige screen cares about outrank vanity crafts. Do not prestige with a half-finished silk vanity project if another hour of scrap/sap would buy a better permanent buff—compare with Prestige Buffs.
A — Linked production and hover-click engines
Late upgrades that link resource bars, add auto-clicks while hovering, or make tree clicks hit every building make high-traffic structures A-tier forever. Keep the buildings you actually look at upgraded; empty corners can wait.
B — Redundant side factories
Extra buildings that convert already-abundant resources are fine B picks for idle overflow. Staff them when S/A crews are saturated.
C/D — Ultra-expensive cosmetics and low-synergy nodes
If an upgrade costs a fortune for a tiny local bonus and no relic loves that building, park it in D until after prestige or until you are waiting on a timer anyway.
Stage summary table
| Stage | S focus | Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Early | Sap + hatch pacing, then Scrapyard | Even staffing, early silk vanity |
| Mid | Current growth bottleneck + Battery/events | Ignoring active events |
| Late | Relic targets + prestige metrics | Expensive low-synergy crafts |
Common mistakes
- Leaving starter Pibs on sap forever after scrap becomes the gate.
- Buying every Scrapyard upgrade before hatching enough workers to use them.
- Ignoring multiplier bars because idle income “looks fine.”
- Dumping silk crafts while the next tree bill is 90% scrap.
- Never rechecking ranks after a relic drop.

Revisit this list whenever a growth unlocks a new factory: the S-tier building is almost always whatever the new bill demands, not whatever looked best an hour ago.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about Pibcremental progression, prestige, and resources.
Should I always max sap buildings first?
Only while sap is the bottleneck. After Scrapyard unlocks and tree bills demand scrap, move spare Pibs over even if sap feels emotionally important.
Is the Battery better than the Scrapyard?
The Battery amplifies a pipeline; the Scrapyard often is the pipeline. Staff Scrapyard to feed growth costs, then Battery to accelerate the loop.
When does silk become high priority?
When costume or tool crafts give stacking multipliers you can afford without missing the next tree spend. Until then, keep silk as a B-tier overflow project.
Do relics change the tier list?
Yes. A relic aimed at a middling building can promote it to S for that run. Respec assignments after every meaningful relic find.
Where do prestige choices fit in?
Buildings win the current run; prestige buffs win every future run. When upgrades go exponential, open the Prestige Buffs tier list before another long grind.
