Pibcremental Production Planner Checklist

Four levers, one question: which spend unlocks the next option fastest?

Last updated:

Production Planner

The Production Planner is a decision framework for Pibcremental’s four recurring spends: grow the tree, buy upgrades, hatch Pibs, and prestige. Use it whenever you hesitate, before you go AFK, or after an event dump leaves you suddenly rich. It will not spit fake decimals—it will force a clear priority using the same logic as our Tier List Hub and Guides Hub.

The four levers

  1. Grow the tree — Spend listed resources to raise tree level, spawn new buildings, and unlock factories/resources.
  2. Buy upgrades — Passive or active boosts on buildings, carry limits, multipliers, and click quality.
  3. Hatch Pibs — Spend sap (and later alternate costs) via Papa Pib to gain assignable workers.
  4. Prestige — Reset temporary progress for prestige points and permanent buffs.

Secondary actions (events, relic equipping, costume crafts) interrupt the four levers when timers are live. Treat them as temporary overrides, then return to the checklist.

Master question

Which action most reduces the time until my next meaningful unlock?

Meaningful unlocks include: a new building, a new resource, a prestige node you can afford, a relic slot that changes staffing, or a tree level that enables a prestige path. Vanity crafts that do not change options are not meaningful unlocks.

Step 0 — Snapshot (30 seconds)

Write or note:

  • Next tree growth cost and % complete on each resource.
  • Current Pib count and where they work.
  • Cheapest upgrade that boosts your bottleneck resource by a noticeable amount.
  • Prestige points available and the next permanent buff you want (see Prestige Buffs).
  • Whether an event is active (Events & Relics).

If an event is active and near completion, finish or staff for the event before grinding a cold tree bill—unless the bill completes first anyway.

Decision tree

A. Grow the tree when…

  • You can afford the full bill now (or within a short focused click session).
  • The growth unlocks a building or resource you do not have yet.
  • Your upgrades are getting expensive relative to the growth cost.
  • You are blocked on content that only appears after growth (classic early Scrapyard moment).

Do not grow yet if paying the bill would leave you with zero Pibs of flexibility and a known cheap hatch would repay faster—unless the unlock is the Scrapyard or another S-tier factory from the Buildings Tier List.

B. Buy upgrades when…

  • A cheap node multiplies the bottleneck currency feeding the next growth.
  • Multiplier-bar, carry, or click upgrades will pay back before you can finish the bill by raw hatching alone.
  • You are about to AFK and need passive income to keep climbing.

Skip upgrades that boost an abundant resource while the scarce resource sits unaugmented. Always spend on the scarce side first.

C. Hatch Pibs when…

  • Buildings that matter have empty slots or weak crews.
  • The next hatch is inexpensive compared to minutes of clicking.
  • A new building just unlocked and needs bodies immediately.
  • Relics or prestige buffs improved hatch value (extra spawn chances, cheaper sap).

Delay hatching when sap is the last missing piece of a tree bill you are minutes from completing—spend the sap on growth, then hatch into the new economy.

D. Prestige when…

  • You can buy an S or A permanent buff that clearly shortens early game.
  • Upgrade prices feel exponential and temporary gains are tiny.
  • You already sampled the next buildings enough to know what the buff will amplify.
  • You are mentally done with the run and would otherwise quit without banking points.

Delay prestige if one more event likely drops a relic that finishes a goal, or if you are one growth away from unlocking a system the next prestige path needs. Read the Prestige Guide before your first reset.

Stage checklists

Early game checklist

  • Sap building staffed and being clicked.
  • Hatch when Papa Pib’s cost is cheap vs sap rate.
  • Save for first tree growth; prefer growth over random side upgrades.
  • On Scrapyard unlock: move spare Pibs to scrap; keep some sap income.
  • Buy only upgrades that speed sap or scrap toward the next bill.
  • Ignore silk vanity until scrap/sap bills are comfortable.

Mid game checklist

  • Identify the bottleneck resource on the next growth tooltip.
  • Restaff Pibs toward bottleneck + Battery/event buildings as needed.
  • Top multiplier bars on buildings you can hover.
  • If an event is up, divert workers until rewards land.
  • Silk/costume crafts only when they multiply sap without missing the bill.
  • Estimate whether prestige S-tier buffs beat another hour of grinding.

Late / prestiging checklist

  • Relics reviewed; staffing matches relic targets.
  • Prestige points reach the next planned permanent node.
  • No unfinished event with a near-term relic payoff.
  • Note which early mistakes this run taught you.
  • Prestige → buy per Prestige Buffs → race early growth again.

AFK planning card

Before walking away:

  1. Staff for the resource that is furthest from the next growth (not the one that looks fun).
  2. Buy the best affordable passive upgrade on that resource.
  3. Leave multiplier bars filled if they decay slowly enough to matter.
  4. Do not prestige “for later” unless the permanent buff is already chosen and purchased—otherwise you may return to a weaker run than you left.

Worked examples

Example 1 — Almost grown. You are at 95% scrap and 40% sap for the next tree. Hatch? Only if new Pibs go to sap and the hatch cost does not steal the sap you need. Prefer sap upgrades and sap staffing; dump click time on sap buildings. Growing is correct the moment both bars clear.

Example 2 — Upgrade trap. Scrapyard upgrades look shiny but cost more scrap than finishing the tree bill that unlocks a better factory. Buy one efficient scrap node if it is cheap, then bank for growth.

Example 3 — Prestige call. You can afford a permanent tree-cost cut now, and remaining temporary upgrades cost more than a full early replay with that buff. Prestige. Rebuild using Getting Started pacing plus new permanents.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about Pibcremental progression, prestige, and resources.

What if two levers look equal?

Prefer the one that unlocks a new building or permanent buff. Options beat slightly higher income on content you already have.

Should I ever prestige before Scrapyard?

Rarely. Reach Scrapyard and learn the scrap bill once unless a permanent buff is unusually cheap and you already understand the early sap loop.

How often should I restaff Pibs?

After every growth, relic, major upgrade, and event start. Mid-game bottlenecks change faster than early sap-only play.

Does idle play change the planner?

Yes. Before AFK, bias upgrades and staffing to passive bottleneck income; save click-centric spends for when you are present.

Where do codes or launch rewards fit?

They do not replace production decisions. Check the Codes Hub for announcement tracking, then return to this checklist for spends.
